Chapel Hill: The University of North Carolina Press, 1963. Francois Jean de Beavoir (1734-1788) was a Major General with the French expeditionary forces in the American revolution. He served as laison to Washington and became a friend of Jefferson. His travels were first published in 1788, and serve as a primary source for the time. These are Very Good (Plus) to Near Fine copies of a revised translation., the First Edition. Green cloth bindings with gilt titling on the spine. Clean texts; xxiv, 361 pages, and ix, continues 365-688. Notes, index, many illustrations. Spines are lightly faded; a few scuff marks. The original slipcase remains sturdy, with light rubbing and soiling. An exceptionally nice way to experience the Eighteenth Century.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
