Clemens). 8vo, original gilt stamped pictorial green cloth (corners little rubbed, pp. 410, [5] ads. Toronto: Slemin & Higgins, 1880.
First (?) Canadian Edition. One of five Canadian printings all from the same plates, with "the sequence not known."-BAL 3626. BAL quotes the Athenaeum, Dec. 18, 1880: "The Canadians are said to have managed to get advance sheets from the steam press at Hartford...and to have been in the market almost as soon as his own publishers." Top one inch of the extreme leading edge of a few leaves at the end very slightly stained green, the same color as the cloth. Very good copy.
