Shapiro Bernstein & Co, 1913-01-01. Unbound. Acceptable. Shapiro Bernstein & Co. [Published Date: 1917]. Sheet music, for medium voice and piano. Folio, 5 pages, including cover. Words by Ballard MacDonald ; music by Harry Carroll. Cover illustration by Starmer, with inset photograph of Yvette Rugel. The song was inspired by John Fox, Jr.'s 1908 novel of the same title, the song expresses the singer's love for his girl, June, who lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. In acceptable condition a split to the outside covers (repaired with clear tape) and several other small nicks and tears and light creasing along edges. Previous owner's name at top of front cover and date on top corner of back cover. Light to moderate overall scuffing aging and soiling. Inside of front cover (page [2]) is an ad with single line excerpts from songs by Ballard Macdonald and others. Back cover has an ad for "It Takes a little Rain with the Sunshine to make the world go round
