About This Item

New York: Random House, 1978. 1st ed. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 169p. Original yellow boards backed in black cloth. dj. 20 cm. Semi-circular brown stain on right edge of front free endpaper which is also nicely INSCRIBED by Brown ("To Yvette, who gave me encouragement and my first opportunity to read my work at the Liberty House way back in 1969. Love, Wesley 6/12/79"). Former owner's name ("Yvette Le Roy") also on front free endpaper. His first novel. We don't know what Brown would have read at Liberty House in 1969 -- perhaps something about the Black Panthers or the Vietnam War.
