New York: Boni & Liveright, 1926. 8th printing (of the 1925 first edition) 8vo size dark maroon clothbound hardcover with black title band on spine and gilt titles and decoration on spine; 399 deckle edge pages Tolerance tells the story of religious intolerance. Hendrik Willem van Loon (1882 - 1944) was a historian, author and illustrator. He was the winner of first Newbery Medal in 1922 for his children's book, The Story of Mankind. Edgewear, bumped head and heel of spine and corner, half inch tear in middle of spine; soil, spill to covers (notably back cover, as seen in our last photograph), pencilled notation on fep. There appears to be some red ink transfer from the covers to the bottom right corner of fep. There is a production crease on pages 41/42. Dealer Direct Payment Only. . Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
