Map illustrated endpapers, showing the mediaeval European / Mediterranean world. Blue coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper (wraparound) with red and black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. A classic mediaeval literature, a novel of chivalry, courtship and war. The book was originally published in 1490, and this is the first English translation. Softening of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. Light age toning to the text block edges with faint scattered foxing. Previous owner's name has been erased using "whiteout", top edge of the free front endpaper. Rubbing of the dustwrapper panels and a little creasing of the top dustwrapper edges. First English Translation. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [6], VII - XXIX, [3], 3 - 641, [1] pages,.
