This book, Tintin in Tibet (Tintin au Tibet) is the 20th adventure --- in this story young reporter-sleuth Tintin, aided by his faithful dog Snowy, his friend Captain Haddock and sherpa Tharkey, trek across the Himalayan mountains, by way of India and Nepal, to search for Tintin's friend Chang Chong-Chen (introduced in The Blue Lotus, 1936), whom authorities say died in a plane crash, but Tintin thinks otherwise. Along the way, they encounter the giant Himalayan ape-man, the Yeti, who also plays a role in the adventure. An exceptional work, it has been praised by the Dalai Lama, who awarded his Truth of Light award to both book and author; book has been adapted to various media including the theatre.

Synopsis

Tintin in Tibet is one of The Adventures of Tintin, a series of classic comic-strip albums, written and illustrated by Belgian writer and illustrator Hergé, featuring the young reporter Tintin as the hero. Tintin in Tibet is the twentieth book in the series. It is said to have been Hergé's favourite of the Tintin series, and was written during a personally difficult time in his life, as he was divorcing with his first wife.
