B T Batsford Ltd., 1946. 1st Edition. Hardcover. NF/VG+. 2nd Edition. 16.4 x 23.8 cm fuchsia cloth with gilt stamped titles to the spine viii, 136 pp with 95pp of black and white photographic illustrations including frontispiece. In original price clipped dust jacket. Clean boards and internally, without name, inscription or bookplate and just a little spotting mainly to the edge of the text block and prelims. The dust jacket which is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown) and presents very well. It is clean and bright with a little scuff at the bottom of the front panel. There is a 3 x 1 cm chip on the top of the rear panel that has been secured by tape on the rear. There is a 1.5 cm closed tear at the bottom of the rear panel and 1.8 and 0.5 cm closed tears on the foot of the spine all of which are reinforced by tape to the rear. A collection of photographs taken by Beaton between 1923 and 1945 with over 50 new photographs taken since the publication of the 1st edition including some of his war photographs.
