About This Item

New York: The Viking Press, 1961. Book Club. Hardcover. Good/good. 248 pages. James Bond of the British Secret Service takes on SPECTRE, beautiful women and fine yachts. Black and blue cloth binding with gilt titles on spine, green top edge. Ex-library, so mylar covered dust jacket is taped to book, but cover appears to be in good condition with a little edge wear, possible bumping of corners and spine ends, hinges weak showing a little webbing, "withdrawn" stamp on front free end paper, a little spotting of end papers, interior pages lightly tanned, marked out library stamp on top edge, library pocket on back free end paper, binding otherwise tight. Gray dust jacket with red and white titles on front cover and spine shows a little edge wear, may be stained, small chips in front of jacket, short tear in leading edge of front inner fold, sticker on spine of jacket.

Synopsis

"The girl looked him up and down. He had dark, rather cruel good looks and very clear, blue-grey eyes. He was wearing a very dark-blue lightweight single-breasted suit over a cream silk shirt and a black knitted silk tie. Despite the heat, he looked cool and clean. 'And who might you be?' she asked sharply. 'My name's Bond, James Bond ...'" When a stranger arrives in the Bahamas, the locals barely turn their heads, seeing another ex-pat with money to burn at the casino tables. But James Bond has more than money on his mind: he's got less than a week to find two stolen atom bombs hidden among the coral reefs. While acting the playboy, Bond meets Domino, sultry plaything of secretive treasure hunter Emilio Largo. In getting close to this gorgeous Italian girl, Bond hopes to learn more about Largo's hidden operation ...

About Scraps of American History

Unique bookstore in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We specialize in vintage and antiquarian volumes with an emphasis on history, but carry books on many subjects. Currently we are building a catalogue from a large collection. We have been members of Biblio.com since around 2001 under the name Greenberry House. Our descriptions are detailed and careful and we try to note every flaw. ALL of our books are photographed and show you the exact item you will receive. We ship within one business day of receipt of orders and generally do not add shipping charges to the amount on your original invoice.
