Photographic dustjacket with original $9.95 price; book in black paper-covered boards with red cloth spine and black lettering. Small chip to jacket at top front corner, with a small, clean tear at bottom back and some nudging to spine ends. Boards are sturdy and square. Binding is sound and pages unmarked. Hayakawa was a noted linguist and semanticist who served as president of San Francisco State University before becoming a U.S. Senator from California from 1977-1983.
