Boards and leather are rubbed, but the gilt detailing on the spines is still clear and shiny. Early owner's ink signature on a blank front endpaper inside each volume. The plates have fadedonto their facing pages. Some mild age-toning and scant foxing, but otherwie, text unmarked and binding secure across the set. Illustrated with 80 hand-colored aquatint plates (which were re-engraved) by T. Rowlandson. Includes IN SEARCH OF THE PICTURESQUE, IN SEARCH OF CONSOLATION, and IN SEARCH OF A WIFE. Undated ninth edition; ca. 1820s.
