A very good, generally clean, neat hard cover with minor shelf wear, binding tight, paper cream white. In a good minus, moderately worn dust jacket which was clearly trimmed (likely to fit a protective cover) andwith several short tears and chipping at top and bottom of back strip and flap folds, with original price present.

Binding is firm throughout with minor thumb-marking. Previous owner's inscription to front pastedown and endpaper. Minor cracking to gutter by title page. Boards have light edgewear with corner crushing and notable marking to boards. Mild tanning to spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Large water stains to boards. Boards are moderately warped.

Dust jacket is very clean, no spine sunning short tear to rear panel. Dust jacket has no price printed on it (and no blind stamp to rear cover), still, I believe this some book club reissue, circa 1955. A very nice copy.
