Hinges and gutters are slightly cracked with exposed netting. Clean pages with noticeable tanning and foxing throughout. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Gilt lettering is darkened. Moderate tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Minor splits to spine ends and corners causing cloth to be frayed. Visible wear marks to boards.

In a prize binding with a prize bookplate to the front pastedown which reads, 'Before Honor is Humility. Presented by the Staffordshire Church Board of Education', alongside a ink inscription. In a calf prize binding. Externally, smart with some wear to extremities. Front joint starting. Spine faded. Prize bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound.
