About This Item
Thomas Alva Edison: An Intimate Record by Francis Arthur Jones
Hardback, 1924, revised edition, illustrated, published by Hodder & Stoughton, London, xvi + 399 pages.
Measures around 8 1/4" by 5 3/4" by 1 1/2". Pictorial dust jacket with photo of subject, very tattered, with a number of tears and several large chips missing. The jacket has tape repairs to the interior and has been given a protective clearsleeve cover to prevent further degradation. Aside from this, some marking and scuffing. Red cloth binding, black edging to front board and black lettering and edging to spine. A little discolouration to spine and to board edges but quite clean and colouring reasonably vivid. Signs of wear, rubbing at edges and on hinges, with bumped corners. Some slackness to binding and cracking along front inner hinge with netting broken, but textblock otherwise reasonably firm. Page edges a little foxed, browned, marked and slightly scuffed. Page surfaces clean, the odd mark but no inscriptions, underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.
