About This Item

Third Party Risk by Nicolas Bentley (Michael Joseph Ltd, 1st edition 1953).

Nicolas Bentley (1907-78), a popular author and illustrator mainly known for his humourous works also wrote several thriller/crime stories, this title being his third after 'The Tongue-Tied Canary' (1948) and 'The Floating Dutchman' (1950).

Lovely wrap-round dustwrapper art by B. G. Yates. Comes with the wrap-round band anouncing 'a Nicolas Bentley thriller', with title to rear edge.

Hardback in dustwrapper, priced ten shillings and sixpence (10s 6d) to flap . 240pp. Size: 7.5 x 5 inches approx. (191mm x 128mm).

Dustwrapper lightly rubbed to extremities; sunned and tanned to spine and upper edges of flaps; age-toning to verso. Wrap-round band sunned and tanned to spine, a 'nick' with small loss to lower edge; surface abrasion/loss and marking where it appears a sticky label has been poorly removed; sunned/tanned to folds. Boards and spine clean and bright, sharp corners. Toning/offsetting to endpapers; pages a little toned but otherwise clean throughout.

Overall, a particularly nice, fresh copy - attractive.
