First edition (first printing). Near fine copy in an elegant and unusual specialty custom three-guarter leather and marbled paper-covered board covers, with gilt-lettered spine with 2 raised bands on spine, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt. A few small scuff marks to leather, ink inscription to previous owner on front free endpaper (quite charming): 'For our dear friend Miss Potter whose tea is the best we've drunk on this side of the Atlantic.', else fine.
