[iv]+567+[1]pp, [iv]+496pp, [iv]+468pp, index to the whole in vol III, spines rather dry & dusty - handling leaves a brown leather mark on hands - browning to several gathers in vol I, leather rubbed. Watson's Theological Institutes was the first systematic theology by a Wesleyan, covering the evidence, doctrines, morals, and institutions of Christianity & was the first attempt to systematize John Wesley's theology. Influencing and guiding the later systematic theological work for Methodist theology, Watson's Institutes was the main Methodist textbook for systematic theological studies and remained a primary text for over 50 years after his death. Richard Watson [ 1781 - 1833 ] Wesleyan Methodist minister and theologian, who with Jabez Bunting ( to whom this work was dedicated ) and Robert Newton, stood among the dominant figures of his generation in Wesleyan Methodism.

Book grades are given book then dustjacket (if any) Running from F - Fine, VG - Very Good, G - Good, P - Poor. A fine book will look almost like the day it was bought, a VG one will have some evidence of prior ownership, G means a nice clean copy, obviously secondhand & P implies a COMPLETE copy that has suffered a hard life & will need some TLC. We take into account the books age when grading, so a 250 year old book graded as VG will look more second hand that a 5 year old book graded the same. On the Net since 1998. All prices are in GBP.
