Undated but circa 1859 10 volume hardcover set as pictured. Titles include Barry Lyndon, Great Hoggarty Etc, The History Of Pendennis Etc, Roundabout Papers, Four Georges Etc, The Virginians, The Adventures Of Philip Etc, Paris, Irish And Eastern Sketches Etc, Henry Esmond, Catherine Denis Duval and Lovel The Widower, Vanity Fair, The Newcomes, and Christmas Books, Book Of Snobs & Ballads. A handsome set in nice condition given their age. No publication date is given but several of volumes include dated notes, the latest of which was the author's dedication from 1859. Bindings are intact in all. Embossed brown boards with black and gold stamping show some edge wear and lightly bumped corners. All are lightly soiled. Vanity Fair and Barry Lyndon show some fraying at head and tail of spine. Patterned endpapers are mottled. Each volume has a tissue guarded frontispiece and multiple illustrations by the author. Texts are age tanned. Front hinge of Henry Esmond cracked at title page. Final 24 pages of The Adventures of Philip have wrinkling and small tears at fore edge. Front hinge of Christmas Books cracked at contents page. Front hinge of Paris is cracked at dedication page. One page with underlining, and writing on rear endpapers of The Newcomes.
