In original blue cloth boards in thor. vg. condition. After the death of T.H. Huxley, a diary was found which he wrote when he was in his early twenties. In the diary there are details of a voyage to Australia on H.M.S Rattlesnake. This diary forms the major part of this book. It is an intimate piece of writing by a young aspiring scientist. The commentary by Julian Huxley on his grandfather’s life and work makes compelling reading.
