About This Item

Bowen, IL: Bruce Morton Studios, 2015. First Edition. First Printing.. Softcover. As New/No Dust Jacket, As Issued.. Bowen, IL: Bruce Morton Studios, 2015. Softcover. As New/None, As Issued. First Edition/First Printing. 36 pages. Retrospective collection of color photographs, presented with actual pieces of fabric. One of the most beautiful art photography books of its kind ever published in our time. Limited Edition, whose limitation is not stated. Published as a softcover original only. There is no ISBN. The Limited Edition is now rare. An austerely elegant production by Bruce Morton and Paula Gillen: Oversize-volume format. Orange softcovers with titles on the cover and spine, as issued. Photographs and Captions by Bruce Morton. The cover as well as selected inside pages have pieces of fabric neatly pasted on them. Each copy's textile is unique to it. No two copies are alike. Printed on pristine-white, thick coated stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. The reproduction quality is exemplary in every respect. Without DJ, as issued. Presents, in its Limited Edition format, Bruce Morton's "Textile". Lovely. All of the color photographs show various fabrics "in situ": As raw harvested cloth, dresses, curtains, tablecloths, window displays, and finally, as discarded wardrobe-donations to the Salvation Army. While there isn't a single human presence, that is precisely what we feel and sense - and is consciously evoked - by these austerely beautiful "landscape" photographs of modern urban spaces, of as the expression goes, The Way We Live Now. An absolute "must-have" title for Bruce Morton collectors. This is a copy of the Limited Edition. It is very boldly and beautifully signed in black ink-pen on the title page by Bruce Morton. It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. This title is a contemporary art photography classic. As far as we know, this is the only copy of the Limited Edition available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: The pieces of fabric that are neatly pasted on each copy is unique to it. No two copies have the same textile samples, thereby enhancing each one's collectible value. A rare signed copy thus. Lavishly illustrated with color plates. One of the most brilliant photographers of our time. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER BRUCE MORTON TITLES IN OUR CATALOG).
