About This Item

Wexford: County Wexford Heritage Committee, 1989. Paperback trade, very good condition, black & white photos, maps, bottom corners last few pages & rear cover slightly creased, faint foxing top edge, tiny mark front cover, minor edgewear. 59 pp. Richard Roche tells the story of the Wexford migrants who braved shipwreck, pestilence, Indian attacks and war to form the colony of Refugio in Texas. They left their native Ireland in 1833 - 1834 to seek a better life in the New World. The publication of this small book is one way in which, it is hoped, new interest may be aroused in the links between the two regions. SCARCE.
