Selected and with an Introduction by W. Somerset Maugham. "CL" on copyright page with copyright 1939, 1940 on title page. Book-of-the-Month Club note laid in. Crease on one page, previous owner name penciled on front pastedown and front free endpaper. Straight and square. Light stains top edge (with red topstain) otherwise an excellent copy, no other markings, white pages, very light wear to boards. Price intact original DJ ($2.50 on rear flap) has a few chips, closed tears and other general wear. Jacket now in Brodart protective sleeve. NEAR FINE/GOOD. 1526 pp.
