Synopsis
The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge by Carlos Casteneda is about a UCLA grad student in botany who goes down to southern Arizona to learn about their native plants in the 1960s. He ends up studying with a Yaqui shaman and explores the realm of human perception, induced through a variety of 'power plants' as well as peyote.
