Followed by Preface & Index before the main text. 448 Pages. 6 1/2" Tall, 320g. Bound in contemporary Brown Full-Leather Binding with 4 Raised Bands to spine. SPINE HAS A VERTICAL SPLIT DOWN THE MIDDLE WHICH HAS BROKEN THE BOOK INTO 2 HALVES. Boards are attached. Ffep and pages 249 - 258 detached but present. only 1 page is missing (No 173-174). Old bookseller notes penciled on emdpapers. Previous owner's name at top of title page blotted out by ink which has stained the frontis and dedicatory page top margins (see photo). One Index page has a very small piece torn from bottom corner (not touching the text). Only some occasional spots of foxing, pages in good, clean condition.
