About This Item

The Harvill Press. Very Good/Very Good. 2004. Hard Cover. 8vo 1843431572 Dust jacket complete, unclipped. Original cloth boards with bright gilt titling on spine. No ownership marks. Map end papers. 384 pages clean and tight. The settlement of Tasmania by Europeans began 200 years ago. Their journal recounted a saga beginning in North Devon in the 1890s with a dashing but profligate ancestor who, having played tennis with the Kaiser, ended his life in disgrace in the Tasmanian bush... .
