In a town so enthusiastic about hunting no game lives anywhere near it, the locals tell hunting stories and throw their own hats in the air to shoot at them. After seeing an Atlas lion in a traveling menagerie, Tartarin, the chief cap hunter, is forced to go on a hunting expedition to Algeria. Written by Alphonse Daudet, a French novelist. Illustrated by J. Girardet, Montegut, De Myrbach, Picard, and Rossi. In the original quarter calf with marbled boards. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and minor rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Near Fine
