About This Item
First and only edition. Very rare imprint (only six paper copies found in Worldcat). A biography of Alexander the Great (356-323 BC) compiled by an anonymous author for this ‘‘Bulaq’’ edition. The book consists of two parts, the first one dedicated to Alexander’s early years, the death of his father Philip II of Macedon, and the beginning of Alexander’s reign; the second part narrates Alexander’s conquest of the Persian Empire. The book also includes Alexander’s best speeches to his army and people, the author’s comments on Macedonia and its people, and a short glossary of Greek gods and heroes.
