1914-01-01. Hardcover. Good. States "Sixth Edition Revised" on spine. Preface to sixth edition is dated 1913. Extensive pen underlining in first 85 pages. Else a good copy, firm with some rubbing to boards, small ink stain at front edge of front board. Former owner's name written neatly along front edge of inside front board. Taussig is credited with creating the foundations of modern trade theory. He graduated from and spent his career as an economist, at Harvard. In this seminal work he shows how the tariff policies had an enormous influence on the direction of U.S. industrial development, and the conflicts caused by intervention. He was a free trade advocate.
