First ed., second printing; 280 p., clean and unmarked except for partially erased signature of former owner on front paste-down and sticker mark; faint reddish color on front and back end papers, perhaps from inserts that have been removed; charming color frontis. shows "William Brewster and his Wolf-hound Cedric at Scrooby Palace," and other full-page ill. in color and b&w within; end papers are adorned with medallion-like representations of the Mayflower; binding is firm; due to absence of d.j. the green boards show soiling and fading at spine but dark green lettering and Mayflower emblem are clear; slight rubbing at crown and foot of spine and bumping at corners.
