This is a scarce, original issue of the monthly publication "TAC MAGAZINE" - A Magazine of Theatre, Film, Radio, Music, Dance from December, 1939. Volume 2, No. 4. The magazine was a journal of the performing arts with an anti-fascist emphasis, published by the Theatre Arts Committee (TAC) in New York. Articles in this issue include "From Spirituals to Swing" (with an advertisement for a Christmas Eve performance by Benny Goodman and Count Basie on the inside-front cover), "TAC Around Town," Do We Want to See Scenarists Behind Bars?" and more - please see the photos for the complete list. There are photographs, illustrations and advertisements throughout.
Condition:
The front cover has some tiny stain/foxing(?) specks along the right edge, and a couple small stain spots at the left edge; there is a tiny stain near the bottom-right corner of the back cover. The top-right corner of the front cover is creased. The top-left corner tip of the last 5 pages and the back cover is creased. The issue is tightly bound - both covers are firmly attached and there are no loose pages. Nice interior - the pages are clean with no notable issues found. Overall the magazine is in Very Good- condition.
