About This Item

1889 LEWIS CARROLL 1st ed Sylvie and Bruno Alice in Wonderland Victorian Fantasy

"Sylvie and Bruno" by Lewis Carroll, published in two volumes between 1889 and 1893, is a blend of Victorian-era reality and a fantasy world called Fairyland. The story transitions between political intrigues in Fairyland and a romantic subplot in Victorian Britain involving a young doctor named Arthur and his love, Lady Muriel Orme. The novel, reflecting Carroll's signature wit and philosophy, is both a fairy tale and a social commentary, enhanced by 46 illustrations courtesy of Harry Furniss.
