[Hanover, NH?]: [Dartmouth College?], 1953. Pamphlet. 19, [1]pp., wraps. 8.5 x 5.5 in. Edge wear; creasing to the head of spine and foot of rear cover; fore-edge slightly curled. Pencil inscription on front cover: "From Nat'l Economic Council.". Braden-a businessman, diplomat, and lobbyist for the United Fruit Company-encourages US intervention in Latin America to stop unions and communists, with much criticism directed at Peronism and the administrations of Guatemalan presidents Juan Jose Arevalo and Jacobo Arbenz. (Arbenz was deposed in a US-backed coup about the year after this speech was delivered, apparently with Braden's assistance).
