Edinburgh: Colin H. Hamilton, 1963. NO. 39 OF 135 COPIES, 8vo, pp. 13, [3]. Original paper covers attached within sage green wrappers printed in red, integral flaps. Wrappers a little discoloured, small chip to spine fold. Ownership inscription of Duncan Glen to flyleaf, numbered in ink to limitation-page. The text of a speech given by Hugh MacDiarmid in tribute to his friend, the writer Sydney Goodsir Smith, on the presentation of the Sir Thomas Urquhart Award to the latter on 14th December 1962. It was printed in an edition of 135 copies, of which the first 35 were signed and specially bound. This copy from the regular issue belonged to the poet, publisher and long-time champion of MacDiarmid’s work, Duncan Glen.

About McNaughtan's Bookshop
Established in 1957, McNaughtan's Bookshop is the oldest surviving secondhand and antiquarian bookshop in Scotland. Located in the basement of a listed 1820s tenement building at the top of Edinburgh's Leith Walk, we are the only open shop in Edinburgh holding membership of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association.
