Released in England under the same title as the book and in the US as "The Sword and the Rose," this was Disney's third British production following "Treasure Island" (1950) and "The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men" (1952).
The story of Mary Tudor (Glynis Johns), sister of King Henry VIII (James Robertson Justice) and her struggle not to married off to the French King Louis XII (Jean Mercure).
