Fine, with just a touch of toning to head of spine; about fine unclipped dust jacket, with just a hint of creasing to head of spine. Overall, a great book signed by many Yankees greats. In this book, members of the 1955 - 1964 Yankees teams give personal accounts of their time with the ball club. From the book's dust jacket, "...Sweet seasons is packed with amusing anecdotes and behind-the-scenes details that bring back those golden baseball years of the '50s and '60s - when the Yankees were really America's team." Mickey Mantle played his entire eighteen-year career with the New York Yankees, alongside other legendary Yankees players, like Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, and Whitey Ford. Plagued by injuries throughout much of his career, he nevertheless became an all-time great, winning three MVP awards (1956, 1957, 1962) and the triple crown in 1956. He also helped power the Yankees to seven World Series titles. Yogi Berra played eighteen seasons with the New York Yankees, winning an incredible ten World Series titles. Winner of three AL MVPs and recognized as one of the greatest catchers of all-time, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1972. Whitey Ford played all 16 seasons of his MLB career with the Yankees (1950, 1953-1967). He was selected as an all-star ten times and holds numerous Yankees records, including career wins, shutouts, and games started. Nicknamed "Country" because of his North Carolina farming roots, Enos Slaughter won four World Series, two apiece with the St. Louis Cardinals (1942, 1946) and the New York Yankees (1956, 1958), and was a 10-time All-Star. In the 1946 World Series against the Boston Red Sox, Slaughter scored the winning run in a gutsy play known as the "Mad Dash." This play was ranked #10 in Sporting News' Baseball's 25 Greatest Moments (1999). . Signed. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fine/Dust Jacket Included.
