London, etc.: Longmans, Green, 1899. First British edition.. Dark blue cloth, beveled edges, spine and front cover lettered in gilt. Black end papers. Frontispiece & 7 illustrations by Greiffenhagen. Some wear to lower tips, corner torn from page 20/21 (not affecting text), some pencil marks on preliminary leaf; in general, a bright very good copy. The first British edition, published about a month after the American edition. McKay 26a.
