About This Item

New York: Thomas Y. Crowell & Company, 1899. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. First edition. Top edge stained, sticker remains on front free endpaper, minor general wear. 1899 Hard Cover. 190 pp. EXCERPT: Everyone in the dim basement had a perfect right to feel proud for coming to Sunday school on such a morning. The rain was pouring in torrents; it dashed against the window panes in a fury. The ever greens in the churchyard groaned dismally as they swayed to and fro, and every now and then a branch brushed across one Of the frosted windows. Then so suddenly that a very little boy cried Oh! The beautiful sun burst through the clouds, the trees discontinued to sway, and the rain gave a farewell splash and dash against the windows. The storm was over; and the chil dren hurried out of the large room, eager to look at the rainbow.
