Frost's scarce anthology of comedic and expressive illustrations and pictorial 'nonsense' stories. The first edition. Illustrated throughout with monochrome expressive line drawings by A. B. Frost. In the publisher's original quarter cloth with pictorial paper boards. This work features a collection of pictorial comedic 'nonsense' stories by Arthur Burdett Frost. Frost was an American illustrator and comics writer best known for his illustrations of 'Brer Rabbit'. The stories in this work are told mainly through expressive 'time-stop' illustrations. The work became influential to comic strip illustrators such as Rudolph Dirks.Undated, dated by copies held at the British Library. In the publisher's original quarter cloth with paper to the boards. Externally sound with rubbing, wear and bumping to the extremities, fading to the spine with closed tears to the joints and tears to the cloth to the head and tail and marks to the boards. Internally binding strained in places with pp.81-84 disbound but present. Pages age toned with handling marks throughout. Good
