Hansell Jr. (September 28, 1903 - November 14, 1988) was a general officer in the U. S. Army Air Forces during WWII, and later the U. S. Air Force. He became an advocate of strategic bombing, and was one of the chief architects of daylight precision bombing used in the war. Hansell played a key role in the strategic planning of air operations.
