With illustrations by Gordon Brown and Lewis Baumer.. Inscribed to Mary Dorothea Deakin from "Granny" in 1900. The recipient was the niece of E. Nesbit and a successful Edwardian novelist. "Granny" is probably Sarah Nesbit, mother of E. Nesbit.
