Softcover Although d'Urville Island is relatively small, it has an extensive, interesting and colourful history, which is well recorded here by Olive Baldwin. The island lies at the north west extremity of the South Island's Marlborough Sounds area and French Pass is on its south eastern coast and is the extremely narrow passage between island and mainland. The author relates the story in Three volumes, this being the third volume only, (the second volume was printed in 1980),364 pages plus an index and a large fold out aerial photo of the island.
