Laid in is a color illustration depicting a birds-eye view of the Grand Canyon entitled: The Greatest Thing in the World with brief text by Charles F. Lummis. Stiff blue wraps with silver and black lettering. The text block includes many b&w maps and illustrations, and an inscription is written on the front endpaper. The inscription is quite sweet: Awarded to Thomas J. P[? ] as champion egg roller in contest Easter 1917. By Miss Lillian Baker, teacher at Seligman, Ariz, April 1917. Wraps have light sunning and wear. Glue residue on front gutter. Crease on the title page and a few of the preceding pages. Overall very good condition. The author, a noted geologist, writes in detail about the geologic history at popular tourist sites at the Grand Canyon and provides many illustrations and photographs. The eye-catching illustration of the Grand Canyon was made for the Santa Fe Railroad and greatly adds to the value of this booklet. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 81 pp .
