Includes many illustrations in black and white, including some large folding plates. Light blue cloth lettered in gilt, top edge gilt, other edges uncut. Spine sunned, front cover slightly bowed up at the center, spine ends a little rubbed, good hinges, sound binding, clean pages. Notation and the name A. Simpson on the front free endpaper. A. Simpson is Alan Simpson, who was a Professor of English at Chicago University for many years before he became President of Vassar College through most of the 1960s and 1970s.. Eighth Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
