The cheery tale of two orphans whose uncle orders them to be killed by two ruffians, who instead leave them to die in a forest. They dont write them like this anymore. Not dated, circa 1920. With twelve splendid full page colour illustrations, three full page black and white illustrations and more black and white illustrations in the text. Great expression on the face of the rabbit on the front cover. One colour plate has creases, two have white spots in places. Covers have general wear. Title page becoming loose at lower half. Back pastedown cracked..
