About This Item
Boston : James R. Osgood and Company, 1877. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Gilt spine lettering on ruled edge green covers in hand-made brown paper wrappers - which had kept this volume in good condition! 12mo, 457 pages.. Ex- library copy - This is Volume No.52 of the West Bath (Maine) Library Association, with their label on the inside of the cover. The unusual library label says: "N. B. This book must not be lent out of the subscribers family, and if injured, all damage must be paid to the librarian. No volume can be kept over four weeks ; two weeks additional time will be allowed by having it renewed. A fine of two cents per day will be charged for a book kept over this time. A violation of these rules will result in a loss of membership.". Other than the brown paper wrapper pasted on the inside of the covers, color loss on the covers, and the library bookplate, this is a good copy.
