A deluxe leatherbound edition offering a collection of five short novels by Thomas Mann (1875-1955) in this single volume. Includes his "Death in Venice," "Felix Krull" and 3 others. With illustrations by Jane Sterrett and a drawn portrait of Mann by Bernard Fuchs. Issued as an entry in the publisher's Collected Stories of the World's Greatest Writers series. One of an unspecified number in this limited edition. Publisher's "Notes from the Editors" booklet is included. --- Bound in rich full brown bonded leather covers with two raised bands on spine. Spine titling, elaborate decorations to covers and spine, and textblock edges all in bright gilt. Interior leaves printed on high-quality buff color laid papers. Gold silk moire endpapers, with matching sewn-in satin ribbon bookmark. Volume lacks a dust jacket (as issued). --- With a very slight scratching to gilding on textblock fore-edge, otherwise a Near Fine copy lacking additional damages or evidence of having been read.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); (12), 317 pages .
