This is the English translation from the Spanish by Margaret Sayers Peden and published by Atheneum, a division of Macmillan Publlishing Company of New York. First printing per complete number line including the number one.. Hard cover with dark yellow boards, black spine cloth, gold gilt spine lettering, and copper gilt lettering of author's name on front board. Text block clean and tight; no writing, no markings noted. All pages tightly intact, however there is a crack between the front free end paper and the half title page where the page with previous works is glued to the front free end paper. Synopsis

1066 and All That: A Memorable History of England, comprising all the parts you can remember, including 103 Good Things, 5 Bad Kings and 2 Genuine Dates is a tongue-in-cheek reworking of the history of England. Written by W. C. Sellar and R. J. Yeatman and illustrated by John Reynolds, it first appeared serially in Punch magazine, and was published in book form by Methuen & Co. Ltd. in 1930.
