London, UK: J M Dent & Sons, 1940. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. 1st thus. xiv, 360pp, 8. In red cloth boards with motif blind stamped on front panel, gilt lettering on spine. Decorated endpapers. 12mo. Cloth a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. A couple of small mild marks on text block edges. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, bumped along upper edge, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, a tad sun-faded over spine, mild stain on verso. Thomas Mann's writings in this volume include this three most famous long-short stories: Tonio Kruger, Death in Venice and Mario and the Magician, as well as episodes from The Magic Mountain, Joseph and his Brethren etc. With an introduction by E F Bozman.
