About This Item
[Milwaukee]: Federated Czech and Slovak Societies, 1938. A handbill for a mass demonstration and meeting in Milwaukee following the signing of the Munich Agreement, in which the Sudetenland was ceded to Germany against Czechoslovakia's wishes. Great Britain and France signed the agreement, which the handbill references as the "shameful deals of Chamberlain and Daladier." Advertised speakers include Vojta Benes, brother of Czech President Edvard Benes, Congressman John T. Bernard of Minnesota, and Father K. Milynarovic of Whiting, Indiana. The event was organized by the Federated Czech and Slovak Societies.
Printed on newsprint stock (9 ¼" x 6"). Browning to newsprint, bottom right corner slightly gnawed, else a well-preserved copy of a fragile item.
