First Edition. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. This is the second novel by Malcolm Bradbury which describes the adventures of a young middle-aged author named James Walker when he becomes a resident writer at the Benedict Arnold University. The author himself describes this work as an 'extremely amusing novel' which shows the defeat of the liberal man.Malcolm Bradbury (1932-2000) was an English author and academic. He wrote this novel soon after moving to the University of East Anglia to become the professor of American Studies, creating a course that was attended by both Ian McEwan and Kazuo Ishiguro. Collated, complete.
